Jessica

When you meet me, the first thing you’ll notice is that I am “a lot”! I am high-energy, enthusiastic and just excited about life. But my greatest passion has always been movement of the body. I trained in ballet from a young age, as well as advocated for myself to be allowed to participate in adult aerobics classes with my mother from the age of nine. Fitness and dance have always been my reason for getting up in the morning! I have a BA in Dance from UCSD. After graduating, I taught ballet, modern dance, dance fitness, Middle Eastern and Bollywood dance for over 15 years. Then two children, multiple injuries, the diagnosis of an autoimmune disease, and the resulting 50 pounds I’d put on abruptly ended my career and belief that I could ever dance again. Two years ago I decided to re-invest in me, so I dedicated time every single day to practicing dance, strength training, and low impact cardio. It was a long road, but I was so successful in losing the weight and getting strong, I knew I had to help other women like me to transform their bodies and get strong. I have now been exclusively teaching barre fitness classes in the Austin area for over a year. My main focus is on injury prevention and working through the existing injuries of aging, as I have pretty much all of them! I am SO excited to be teaching Barre with Truecore GTX right here where I live in beautiful Georgetown!!
